My Research Writing Rituals

Yes, I want to start every day writing my research paper in a ritual.

My research writing rituals

Before starting to write my research paper every day, I am devoting 30 minutes to writing this blog. This will be every day for the next 30 days, and today is the second day. I will make sure that I will never break the chain of writing every day about my research writing experience, goals, and learnings.

I want to be fully focused on the task at hand and beat the deadline that I said to myself I will be doing.

Every day before starting to work on my research paper, that is usually around 9 am when the chores are done and I am settled in a secluded place.

At this moment I am writing to a nearby inn owned by a University. I have the space and time to be fully focused and immersed myself in the task of writing our mangrove research paper. My deadline for these will be tomorrow November 30, 2021. I have been focusing on his for several weeks already and hopefully by midnight today, I can forward this to my professor with a little or no more revisions needed.

Anyway back to the ritual that I was talking about. I make sure that I have my alarm set. I write my big goal for the month 15 times on a piece of paper after writing that I make sure I also journal about what's on my mind about the goal, whether I am such a beast when it comes to writing and beating the deadline. I also make sure that I measure the gains from yesterday and how I can move even if just a bit for today. This will really take some 20 to 30 minutes of my time sometimes I put on an alarm just to keep on time.

After I write my goal 15 times. I begin to list a few to-do lists. Then I head straight to dealing with the stuff that I need to be done.

Yesterday, I have a realization as I move forward to the writing and saw some similar researches about our mangrove paper, that the paper will be in constant evolution. The first draft will be completely different as we move towards the completion of the paper.
